【a cockatiel and a lovebird “P&P” : Episode 4】 bird carrier backpack for a lovebird Pén Chan
We wanted to buy a bird carrier backpack for our lovebird Pén Chan, and we wondered whether to choose the same type of bird carrying backpack (Pak-o-Bird) as the one for our cockatiel Pea Chan, or another backpack. (The following images show the Pak-o-Bird backpack for Pea Chan. The image on the right shows the inside of the backpack.)
So, we chose a different bird carrier backpack (by halinfer) which had a side entrance and a transparent front so we could easily see inside the backpack, considering the size of Pén Chan’s body.
Today we received a backpack for our lovebird Pén Chan, and we tried to let him/her get used to the backpack before we go out with them.
When we ordered a bird carrier backpack for Pén Chan, we looked for and considered some different backpacks. Then we also found some other bird carrier backpacks on Amazon.com that are made of transparent material, which we did not buy this time. We hope this will be of some help to those who are interested in buying one.
【a cockatiel and a lovebird “P&P” : Episode 3】 social distance of birds
But they started to learn their “social distance”; Pén Chan does not get too close to Pea Chan as much as before and Pea Chan does not avoid Pén Chan as much as before.
And then Pén Chan started to perch on the shoulder of humans, despite being told at the pet shop that dealing with people had been the weak point of Pén Chan.
We cherish our “lovebird” Pén Chan, talking a lot in bird language and playing well with some toys, as well as our cockatiel Pea Chan.
【a cockatiel and a lovebird “P&P” : Episode 2】 over the birdcage

Then it was time to release our cockatiel Pea Chan. Pén Chan tried to get close to Pea Chan, but Pea Chan avoided Pén Chan because of his/her timidity.
【a cockatiel and a lovebird “P&P” : Episode 1】 an adopted lovebird
We have adopted a blue-masked lovebird. We named the bird “Pén Chan”, because it looked like a penguin.
Pén Chan lived in the bird carriers for Pea Chan until Pén Chan’s new cage arrived.
We prepared the food for Pén Chan ; the seed blends and the pellets that Pén Chan ate as before, the grains that Pea Chan ate as usual, etc… The food that Pén Chan ate for the first time at home was the seeds of millet made in France (Pea Chan left them).
We felt relieved that Pén Chan started to eat something at home.
